What happens when I report a potential violation?
When a code violation is reported, we open a case and work towards resolving the violation through a process of education, inspection and notices. If we receive a complaint that does not fall under our scope of enforcement or jurisdiction, we will send a referral to the appropriate agency for action.
Can I file an anonymous complaint?
You may file an anonymous complaint by phone, fax or mail. Please do not include your name and contact information anywhere on the complaint. If you provide your name or other personal information it may be disclosed, even if you request to remain anonymous. All information collected by this agency is made available to the public as mandated by the Public Records Act.
What can I do if I get a notice and do not understand the violation?
Call your Officer. Every notice/administrative citation provides the issuing Officer’s contact information. Code Enforcement is here to work with you to ensure that our community remains a safe and healthy place to live. What happens if the property does not come into compliance?
There are times when voluntary compliance is not achieved. Depending on the nature of the violation, the next steps might include an administrative citation, civil penalties, abatement, or the property owner could be subject to criminal prosecution in the Justice Court of Clark County.
My neighbor has overgrown branches hanging onto my property. Can anything be done about this?
If talking to your neighbor is not an option, you can contact the Neighborhood Justice Center. The Center's personalized no cost mediation service may help you resolve your dispute more quickly than through the courts. You will also have more control over the outcome.

There is an abandoned vehicle in front of my residence how do I get it removed?
If the vehicle has been parked in the public right of way for more than 72 hours and has not moved, you may report the vehicle to the Constable’s Office at 702-455-8697. Please provide a description and location of the abandoned vehicle.
Do you respond to Noise Complaints?
It depends to the nature of the complaint. Our office does respond to complaints for construction noise that happens between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. We also respond to noise issues for faulty equipment producing a high decibel level.

What are the most common code enforcement violations that occur in unincorporated Clark County?
Code Enforcement receives numerous complaints, covering a wide range of problems. The following is a listing of some of the most common complaints received.
Short Term Rentals - It is illegal under Clark County Code 30.44.010(b)(7)(C) to rent residential property for fewer than 31 days in unincorporated Clark County.
Green Pools- As an owner or tenant of the property you are responsible for maintaining your pool in a clean & healthy condition. Also, other standing water sources and green pools can be a breeding site for mosquitoes.
Dead vegetation & Weeds- Overgrown or dead vegetation must be removed. Grass and weeds over four (4) inches high must be cut. Overgrown vegetation blocking any sidewalk or public right-of-way must be trimmed so as not to cause a safety hazard.
Trash & Debris- All junk, trash and debris must be removed from property and disposed of properly. This includes auto parts, furniture, appliances, tires, plastics, cardboard, paper, building materials, tree trimmings and dead vegetation.
Illegal Dumping- Illegal dumping of solid waste, hazardous waste or recyclables in the public right of way or on private property is prohibited in Clark County.
